Item Details, Condition & Measurements

Material: Solid wood, believed to be cherry; solid brass Primary Color: Reddish brown Secondary Color: Brass / gold Style: Mid-Century, Studio Craft, Traditional Type: Taper candle holders Set: Matching pair Maker: Paul R. Winter Maker's Mark: Original label reading “Hand Crafted by Paul R. Winter” Height: Approximately 7" each Base Diameter: Approximately 4" each Candle Type: Taper Vintage: Yes Estimated Circa: 1960–1980 Quantity: 2 candle holders

CONDITION: Excellent vintage condition. Both candle holders are structurally sound and exceptionally well preserved, with no significant cracks, chips or losses observed. The wood retains a beautiful rich finish with only minor surface variation and evidence of age consistent with vintage handcrafted woodwork. Both solid brass taper cups are intact and display natural age-related patina and surface variation. The original green felt remains on the bases, and one retains its intact “Hand Crafted by Paul R. Winter” maker's label. Please review all photographs closely as an important part of the condition description.

This pair carries particularly valuable evidence of its maker: the underside retains an original label reading:

The surviving label provides direct maker attribution and is an important part of the history of the pair. Examples of identified regional craft work can be difficult to connect to their original makers once labels and documentation have disappeared, making the intact Paul R. Winter identification especially appealing.

Measurements: Height: Approximately 7" each Base Diameter: Approximately 4" each Quantity: Matching pair of 2

Vintage metal note: Aged metals naturally develop tarnish, patina, oxidation and finish variation. We generally leave aged finishes unpolished; review photos for exact condition.
