Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The Greenbrier remains exceptionally soft, clean and beautifully formed, with remarkably consistent stitch tension throughout. One of The Greenbrier's best qualities is its construction. Traditional granny-stitch afghans can sometimes be quite dense and tightly worked. This example is different. Its maker maintained very even tension while working at a more relaxed gauge, creating larger open spaces between the stitches. The result is an afghan that feels supple and cozy rather than stiff or heavy.
The acrylic yarn itself is remarkably soft to the touch. Combined with the open crochet, it allows The Greenbrier to fall naturally into soft folds when draped across a sofa or chair and makes it particularly comfortable for curling up underneath.
