CONDITION: The gravy boat itself is in very good vintage condition with no chips, cracks or other damage noted. The attached underplate has a hairline crack extending inward from the outer edge, shown clearly in the photographs. The underplate remains structurally solid and securely attached. The gold trim and colorful decoration retain attractive visual presence with normal evidence of age and previous use. Please examine all photographs closely, particularly the detailed photograph of the hairline, as they form an important part of the condition description.
The form is particularly attractive. Rather than a conventional handled gravy boat, Syracuse designed this piece with a broad, elongated body and graceful upswept ends, creating an elegant silhouette from every angle. The attached underplate echoes the curves of the vessel with a scalloped border and additional floral decoration.
