CONDITION: Good vintage condition with no obvious cracks or repairs observed. The central wick area shows discoloration and residue consistent with previous use. Handmade glaze and surface variations are present. Please review all photographs closely.
This wonderfully petite oil lamp was handmade by Salvaterra Pottery, the North Carolina studio pottery founded by Sue Salvaterra Hintz in 1996.
Measuring only approximately 3" tall and 3" in diameter, the lamp has a broad conical body covered in rich teal and blue-green glaze. A flowing raspberry/plum band circles the shoulder beneath a softly speckled cream and beige upper section. The flared top forms a shallow oil reservoir surrounding an integrated ceramic wick holder.
The exposed pottery base is hand-incised with the Salvaterra signature.
