Some lamps illuminate a room; others help define it. This matching pair of substantial 31-inch Neoclassical table lamps was made for the latter purpose.

Tall, symmetrical, and wonderfully decorative, the pair combines an antique-gold-tone metal framework with elongated architectural supports, scrolling details, fluted ornamentation, footed pedestal bases, and dramatic tapered clear cut-glass center elements. Their unusually graceful proportions give the lamps the presence of much more expensive designer lighting while allowing the transparent glass centers to keep the overall silhouette from feeling heavy.

The original-style decorative presentation is completed by a particularly beautiful pair of burgundy shades. Each shaped shade has an undulating scalloped profile finished with coordinating braided trim and an oversized muted-gold textile bow. The deep wine and antique-gold palette works exceptionally well with mahogany, walnut and other dark woods, gilt mirrors, traditional upholstery, blue-and-white porcelain, antique furnishings, and richly layered interiors.

The lamps are sold as a matching pair, including both shades.

They would be particularly striking flanking a large mirror or painting on an entry console, positioned at either end of a substantial sideboard, used on matching bedside tables, or incorporated into a traditional library or living room. Their symmetry makes them especially useful for designers creating a formal focal point.

The look crosses several decorating styles particularly well: Neoclassical, Regency Revival, traditional maximalist, Old World, grandmillennial and English-inspired interiors. Although elaborate, the long vertical lines and transparent glass centers give the lamps an elegance that keeps them from appearing overly bulky.

Measurements

Each lamp measures approximately:

31 inches tall overall
7 inches in base diameter

Please review the photographs carefully for scale, proportions and additional construction details.

Maker & Estimated Age

The manufacturer is presently unknown.

The underside retains a bilingual “Made in China / Hecho en China” label bearing number 770-2027, while P-0056 is molded into the underside of the base. Research has not established a documented manufacturer associated with these numbers, so I will not attribute the lamps to a maker without supporting evidence.

Estimated Circa: 1995–2005.

The estimated date is based upon the lamps' styling, construction, electrical components and labeling. An exact manufacturing year has not been established.

Because the precise date cannot presently be documented, buyers should regard the estimated period as an informed approximation rather than a confirmed manufacturing date.

Electrical Components

Each lamp is corded and equipped with a 3-way rotary switch. The electrical components appear consistent with the manufacture of the lamps rather than obvious later replacement wiring.

As with all pre-owned lighting, buyers should make their own determination regarding electrical suitability and safety for their intended location and use.

Condition

The pair is in excellent pre-owned condition with only modest wear.

The gold-tone finishes remain attractive and display only minor signs of previous handling and use. The clear glass elements present beautifully.

The shades are an important part of this set and are in particularly nice condition. They retain their dramatic shape, decorative bows and trim with very little wear. Please examine all photographs closely, as they form an important part of the condition description.

No attempt has been made to represent these lamps as newly manufactured merchandise. Minor surface variations and signs of previous ownership should be expected.

About the Materials

The gold-colored portions of these lamps are described as gold-tone or antique-brass-finish metal rather than solid brass because the underlying metal composition has not been independently verified.

Likewise, the clear decorative centers are described conservatively as cut/pressed glass rather than lead crystal because their composition has not been independently tested. Their faceted design catches and reflects surrounding light beautifully.

A Designer's Pair

What makes this set particularly compelling is its completeness.

Large matching lamps can establish symmetry in a room in a way that a single decorative lamp cannot. Here, the architectural bases, clear glass centers and elaborate coordinating shades were already conceived as one visual composition. There is no need to hunt for complementary shades or attempt to assemble a matched pair from separate lamps.

Placed against a warm neutral wall, beneath a gilt mirror, or on a dark wood console, they become part of the architecture of the room rather than simply another accessory.

For someone creating a layered traditional interior, these offer an opportunity to introduce scale, symmetry, warm metallic tones, cut glass and rich burgundy color in a single matched pair.

A Note About Pre-Owned & Vintage Decor

Thank you for considering one of my carefully selected vintage or antique treasures. I specialize in authentic pieces that have lived a full life before finding their way to my shop. Because of their age, these items should be expected to display the honest signs of time and use that make them unique—such as patina, finish wear, fading, scratches, dings, minor imperfections, age-related discoloration, or other characteristics consistent with decades of history. I make every effort to provide clear photographs, accurate descriptions, and note any significant condition issues; however, no vintage or antique item should be expected to present or perform like a newly manufactured product. By purchasing, you acknowledge that normal age-related wear and variations are part of the character and authenticity of vintage and antique pieces.

A Note About Aged Metal

Aged metals—including sterling silver, silver plate, brass, and copper—naturally develop character over time. Silver will tarnish (a normal oxidation process), while brass and copper may darken, dull, or develop patina and verdigris. I do not polish these finishes, as many collectors value the depth, warmth, and authenticity they bring. You may also see light wear, including areas where silver plate has thinned to reveal underlying metal, along with age spots, surface variations, or minor discoloration. These are not defects, but expected signs of age that reflect the history and unique character of each piece.

Return Policy

Returns may be requested within 7 days of confirmed delivery.

If you choose to return an item because it is not to your taste, does not meet your personal expectations, or you simply change your mind, you will be responsible for both the original shipping cost and the return shipping cost.

I specialize in vintage and antique items that have been previously loved and are expected to display signs of age and use. Every listing includes detailed descriptions and numerous photographs to accurately represent each item's condition, including any notable wear or imperfections. Please review the description and all photos carefully before purchasing, as normal age-related characteristics are not considered defects or grounds for a "not as described" return.

If your item arrives damaged or differs materially from its description, please contact me promptly so I can work with you to resolve the issue.
