The porcelain bears the green O.&E.G. ROYAL AUSTRIA wreath backstamp associated with Oscar and Edgar Gutherz of Altrohlau, Bohemia. The mark dates to the 1899–1918 period. Based upon the mark and the decorative character of the set, I estimate this example to date to the early years of the 20th century.

Complete antique table services of this specialized type are increasingly difficult to encounter intact. All seven original coordinating pieces remain together, making the set appealing both as functional antique serveware and as a cabinet or dining-room display for collectors of Royal Austria, O&EG porcelain, hand-painted European china and turn-of-the-century tableware.
