CONDITION: Very good antique condition with expected age and use. The brass displays surface wear, scratches, tarnish, patina, darkened areas and natural color variation. The long removable sprinkler stem is present and threads into the body as intended. No major breakage or significant structural loss is apparent. Please review photographs closely for condition.
An especially interesting antique brass gulab pash, or rose water sprinkler, measuring approximately 10" tall x 3" maximum diameter.
This traditional vessel features a rounded reservoir richly decorated with embossed floral and foliate motifs, a pedestal base and a tall slender removable sprinkler stem. Gulab pash vessels were historically used to dispense rose water and other scented waters, including for ceremonies and traditions of hospitality.
Of particular interest is the marked underside, which bears a prominent crown emblem accompanied by additional worn script or characters. The precise maker or workshop has not been identified, and no unsupported attribution is being made.
The sprinkler consists of two pieces. The long stem unscrews from the reservoir for filling and is present with this example.
