CONDITION: Beautiful vintage condition overall. There are two small areas of missing embroidery thread, including one missing golden-yellow stitch/petal in the large flower, as shown in the close-up photographs. There is also one very faint area of discoloration. The linen itself and the delicate lace edging otherwise present exceptionally well, with no significant holes or tears observed. These minor imperfections have been photographed for full disclosure. As an authentic vintage textile, normal evidence of age and previous use should be expected. Please review all photographs closely as an important part of the condition description.
This lovely circa 1940s hand-embroidered linen centerpiece is distinguished by an unusually graceful combination of floral needlework, butterflies, openwork and delicate lace. Measuring approximately 19" x 21", the oval linen has been carefully composed so that its elaborate flower basket anchors one end of the 21-inch length while a pair of embroidered butterflies appears toward the opposite end.
