These are not smooth, refined or uniformly finished pieces of pottery. Roughness is present in many areas and is an important characteristic of this type of traditional pottery. Expect uneven and coarse surfaces, irregular throwing and shaping, glaze pooling and skips, pits, bumps, firing marks, crazing, darkened areas, rough exposed clay and variations around the rims and foot rings. Buyers seeking perfectly symmetrical, smoothly finished contemporary ceramics should be aware that these bowls intentionally present a much more rustic, handmade character.
Measurements Each bowl measures approximately 5.5 inches in diameter × 2.5 inches high. As individually handmade pieces, slight dimensional variations may be present.
Maker / Manufacturer Traditional Tamegroute pottery; individual artisan unknown. Origin: Tamegroute, Morocco.
Estimated Circa: 20th Century
