Item Details, Condition & Measurements

Material: Stoneware / ceramic Primary Color: Ivory / Cream Secondary Color: Blue-Gray Style: Studio Pottery, Organic Modern Type: Pouring / Serving Bowls Set Includes: 2 Bowls Production Technique: Hand Thrown Finish: Glazed with unglazed foot Maker: Unknown / Unidentified Studio Potter Maker’s Mark: Impressed mark near foot; unidentified Vintage: Yes Estimated Circa: Late 20th Century Dimensions: Approximately 5.25" diameter × 2" high each Features: Pouring spout, applied handle, hand-painted/brush-decorated design Quantity: Matching pair of 2

CONDITION: Very good vintage condition with no observed chips, cracks or repairs. These are handmade studio pottery pieces, and variations in form, glaze, surface, throwing lines and decoration are inherent to their construction rather than indications of factory production. There is light surface and foot wear consistent with previous use and age. Please review all photographs closely, as they form an important part of the condition description.

Each bowl is approximately 5.25 inches in diameter and 2 inches high. The low, rounded hand-thrown forms retain visible throwing lines inside, while the creamy ivory glaze is accented with restrained blue-gray abstract brush decoration and warm earthy variation along the rims and handles. The exposed stoneware bases provide an attractive contrast to the glazed surfaces and clearly show the handmade construction.

Both pieces bear the same small impressed maker's mark near the foot. The mark is clearly intentional but remains unidentified; no unsupported maker or country attribution has been made.

Estimated Circa: Late 20th Century
