Item Details, Condition & Measurements
This antique-style brass plaque captures a vivid moment in history: “Billingsgate Landing the Fish, 1872”—a bustling London fish market scene brought to life through finely detailed engraving.
📏 Details • Size: 8” x 11” • Material: Solid brass with engraved scene • Subject: Billingsgate Market, London (1872) • Finish: Warm aged patina with natural character • Back: Original green felt with hanging hardware
The composition is rich with movement—figures unloading baskets, dockside energy, and the quiet grit of daily life in Victorian England. Every time you look at it, you notice something new.
📦 Condition
Very good vintage condition with light, age-appropriate wear. Minor surface variation consistent with brass patina and age.
Back retains original green felt, showing some wear (see photos).
Your piece will be carefully wrapped and shipped with premium protective materials. I do not profit from shipping—my goal is for your item to arrive safely and beautifully.
Vintage metal note: Aged metals naturally develop tarnish, patina, oxidation and finish variation. We generally leave aged finishes unpolished; review photos for exact condition.
