This is a hand-thrown American studio stoneware pitcher, rooted in the long-standing pottery traditions of North Carolina—where form, function, and material have always taken precedence over mass production.
You can see it immediately in the body.
The ribbed surface carries the rhythm of the wheel. Each turn is preserved in the clay, giving the piece movement and quiet tension. It is not perfectly uniform—and that is exactly the point. This is a vessel shaped by hand, not pressed into form.
The glaze is a deep, inky black—rich and light-absorbing, with subtle variation across the ridges. In low light, it reads almost sculptural. In natural light, it reveals depth and contour.
This piece is substantial and heavier than most examples of its kind, with a wide, grounded stance and a confident, collector-quality presence. It feels exactly like what it is: real stoneware, properly made.
It is increasingly difficult to find examples like this in such clean, undamaged condition—especially unsigned pieces that still carry this level of weight, balance, and visual strength.

However, I explain the colors very clearly and that should never be cause for a return.
Aged Metals
Aged metals—including sterling silver, silver plate, brass, and copper—naturally develop character over time. Silver will tarnish (a normal oxidation process), while brass and copper may darken, dull, or develop patina and verdigris. I do not polish these finishes, as many collectors value the depth, warmth, and authenticity they bring. You may also see light wear, including areas where silver plate has thinned to reveal underlying metal, along with age spots, surface variations, or minor discoloration. These are not defects, but expected signs of age that reflect the history and unique character of each piece. I do not accept returns because something was not polished or has rust or other logical conditions for aged pieces. My pictures are very clear.
