Item Details, Condition & Measurements
Condition Very good overall presentation based on visual inspection. The watercolor displays rich blue and rust-orange coloration, expressive brushwork, and attractive tonal variation throughout the composition. The wooden frame exhibits minor surface variations consistent with previous handling and display. The decorative matting presents well. The artwork has been carefully removed from its frame for examination, photographed, and reassembled. The original mounting materials include brown tape on the reverse. No conservation treatment has been performed. The painting is presented behind glass. Reflections visible in certain photographs are from the glazing and are not part of the artwork. Please review all photographs carefully, as they form an important part of the condition description.
"Curious Blue" — Signed Raymond Williams Watercolor
A charming study of a bluebird captured in a moment of quiet curiosity, this original-appearing watercolor painting is signed Raymond Williams and titled Curious Blue.
Loose, confident brushwork gives the composition a sense of movement. Delicate grasses, scattered ink-like splatters, and areas of exposed paper create an expressive contrast with the carefully rendered bird.
An individually titled and signed work
The artist's signature, Raymond Williams, appears prominently in the lower right corner.
During inspection, the handwritten title Curious Blue was discovered on the reverse mounting materials, providing additional documentation of the artwork's original presentation.
