Vintage Wales art glass bird paperweight, made in Japan, dating to the mid-century period (circa 1960s). This beautiful piece features a vibrant multicolor confetti / foil glass pattern encased in clear glass, a popular decorative style produced by Japanese glass studios for export during the mid-20th century.
The original “Wales – Made in Japan” paper label is still attached, confirming both the brand/importer and country of origin. Wales was a known mid-century importer of decorative art glass, while the glass itself was produced by skilled Japanese studio artisans.
