Condition
These antique plates remain in good vintage condition with no cracks observed. The gold gilt trim around the rims shows significant wear from many years of normal use, and there are utensil marks and surface wear consistent with age. One plate has a small original factory glaze/kiln flaw that occurred during manufacture and is not later damage. Please examine all photographs carefully as they form part of the description.
These plates display beautifully despite the honest signs of over a century of use.
English transferware has remained popular with collectors for generations because of its detailed printed decoration, craftsmanship, and enduring versatility. John Maddock & Sons was one of the respected Staffordshire manufacturers producing quality tableware during the late Victorian period, and the Seville pattern remains an attractive example of classic English dining ware. Whether added to an existing collection or used to create an inviting antique-inspired table, this set represents authentic English pottery history.

I specialize in vintage and antique items that have been previously loved and are expected to display signs of age and use. Every listing includes detailed descriptions and numerous photographs to accurately represent each item's condition, including any notable wear or imperfections. Please review the description and all photos carefully before purchasing, as normal age-related characteristics are not considered defects or grounds for a "not as described" return.
If your item arrives damaged or differs materially from its description, please contact me promptly so I can work with you to resolve the issue.
Thank you for considering one of my carefully selected vintage or antique treasures. I specialize in authentic pieces that have lived a full life before finding their way to my shop. Because of their age, these items should be expected to display the honest signs of time and use that make them unique—such as patina, finish wear, fading, scratches, dings, minor imperfections, age-related discoloration, or other characteristics consistent with decades of history. I make every effort to provide clear photographs, accurate descriptions, and note any significant condition issues; however, no vintage or antique item should be expected to present or perform like a newly manufactured product. By purchasing, you acknowledge that normal age-related wear and variations are part of the character and authenticity of vintage and antique pieces.
